Admiral Twin Drive-In Reopening

July 26, 2012

One of the coolest shoots I've done lately was the reopening & ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Admiral Twin Drive-In.  For those of you non-Tulsans who may not know, back in September of 2010, the two large movie screens caught fire and were totally destroyed.  After a trying time to raise money to rebuild, owners Blake Smith and Steve Peace, finally achieved their goal.  On July 15th, Blake, along with Mayor Dewey Bartlett, Blake Ewing, Jim Glover Chevrolet, Tulsa Teachers Credit Union, Tulsa veteran pop band (by the same name) Admiral Twin and many others, cut the ribbon and let the crowd flow in.

I was given free reign to shoot whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted.  How great!  But the best part of all was having to climb atop a very tall ladder, straddling the top seat, all while riling up a crowd to jump around and be excited.  Thankfully, they were genuinely happy to oblige and I didn't fall off.  Oh the joys of being a photographer...
